Time and Effort Pays Off
As Thomas walked home he saw a poster on the local grocery store. It read “Archer’s Challenge for Kids.” Thomas had always wanted to be good at something and archery would have to be it. So he decided he would enter the competition in the junior league (12-14). Every morning Thomas woke up and practiced until his fingers hurt. For two weeks he followed the same routine. Then it was time for Thomas to show what he is made of.
It was an early Saturday morning at the local batting field. There had to be over one hundred people waiting to see their kids shoot. It was now 9:30am and it was Thomas’s turn. As he knocked his first arrow his mind began to go blank and his eyes began to blur. As he raised his bow he could feel the pressure of silence on him. Then he pulled back and released. Bulls-eye! Now all he had to do is get one more bulls-eye and he would win the competition. He pulled up and released. Bulls-eye! He had done it. He had one the tournament. This goes to show you that practice makes perfect as long as you stick with it.
